What is Genie?

Genie is ExpertEngine’s AI assistant. Ask questions in plain English, and Genie will:
  • Generate SQL queries for you
  • Create visualizations and charts
  • Explain your data patterns
  • Suggest optimizations
Genie works best when you have at least one connector set up. Add your first connector to get started.

How to Use Genie

Starting a Conversation

  1. Click Home in the sidebar to open the Genie chat
  2. Type your question in the prompt box
  3. Press Enter or click the send button

Understanding Genie’s Response

When Genie answers, you’ll see:
  1. The SQL Query - The generated code Genie wrote
  2. The Results - A table showing the data
  3. Visualizations - Charts when applicable
  4. Explanation - What the data means

Running the Query

  • Click Run Query to execute Genie’s suggestion
  • Results appear in the data table below
  • You can modify the SQL if needed

Tips for Better Results

Be Specific

“Sales by region last quarter” works better than “show me sales”

Name Your Tables

Mention table names: “from the orders table, show…”

Specify Time Ranges

Include dates: “in the last 30 days” or “for 2024”

Ask Follow-ups

“Now break that down by product category”

Saving Genie’s Work

To save a query Genie generated:
  1. Click Save as Task to create a reusable task
  2. Give it a name and description
  3. Find it later in the Tasks section

Limitations

  • Genie needs an active connector to query data
  • Very complex multi-step analyses may need manual SQL
  • Results are limited to 10,000 rows in preview
